In the early Pink Floyd days, Waters was just a bassist and rhythm guitarist. Syd Barrett led the band at first. Barrett slowly began to lose his mind to drugs and there is a strong case to be made that he suffered from Schizophrenia. Barrett departed from the band in 1968. Syd’s departure lead to Roger Waters taking over as the creative leader and becoming the co-lead vocalist as well.

Roger Waters 2017 Us + Them Tour – Roger Waters Solo Career

It’s easy to say that Pink Floyd became one of the most critically acclaimed bands in the history of music. You’ve seen their album art on posters, and you’ve heard their big songs. “The dark side of the moon” “the wall” “wish you were here” they’ve created numerous hit albums and much of it was thanks to Roger Waters.

The Roger Waters tour will also feature some of Waters’ own music. Waters had a falling out with Pink Floyd in the 80’s. They had several creative and financial differences amongst the group. Waters has spoken out about the toxic environment in Pink Floyd. When he left he started his own solo career, which, although not as successful as Pink Floyd, lead to Waters producing albums of his own. Amongst them Amused to Death and Pros & Cons are the most acclaimed. The Roger Waters Tour will feature a combination of both Pink Floyd hits as well as hits from Roger Water’s solo career.

Roger Waters 2017 Us + Them Tour – The Roger Waters Tour

The Roger Waters Tour promises to be exciting. All of his performances have been more than just concerts. They have been experiences. Roger promises a spectacular performance. The Roger Waters Tour will be a real deep sensory experience. There will be amazing lights and a strong audiovisuals. This will be paired with quad songs which hopes to take you on a musical journey.

So what will be played on the Roger Waters tour? Waters wants it to be a little bit of a secret. But he tells that he will be playing a combination of old and new stuff. He has hinted that about three fourths of it will be old Pink Floyd stuff and that the remaining quarter will be his newer solo career work.

Waters says the Roger Waters Tour will all be connected by a single theme. The name of the tour is the Us + Them tour. This is a song of the Dark Side of the Moon album. This is a beautiful timeless song. It’s essentially about war. How there are two sides us and them. How war is nothing but cruelty. It’s about how no one really wants war. It talks about the deep psychological imbalance between thinking we are peaceful and just on an individual level while at the same time cruel on the group action level. He has spoken that he doesn’t like this pattern of both sides thinking they are right when really they are both equally wrong.

Because of this, I believe the Roger Waters Tour will be about love and peace. A very common theme from Waters and Pink Floyd, I refuse to believe that he will simply be trying to entertain you. The great thing about artists like Waters is that they have a message and a creative way to send it to you. I expect strong words and emotions to be conveyed through music and performance. As a 73-year-old man, Waters must be on a mission. Amidst the current political climate, he likely saw it as a mission and burden upon himself to spread the message of love. Make sure to get yourself some tickets as the Roger Waters Tour will only last half a year in 2017.

The Roger Waters Tour will begin on May 26 next year. His first show will take place in Kansas, Missouri. His final show of the Roger Waters Tour will take place on October 28th of next year. It will take place in Vancouver. He is only touring in North America. It is making 40 stops, and likely to stop at a major city near you.

Roger Waters 2017 Us + Them Tour – Past Tours + What to Expect

In 2010 up to 2013 Waters was on his tour The Wall Live. He did a massive show, which drew in over 4 million fans to all his performances. He once had a show that drew in a crowd of 200,000 people. He made nearly half a billion dollars on this tour.

That previous tour was a showcase of the Pink Floyd album “The Wall.” The new Roger Waters Tour will bring in a much wider selection of music from the Pink Floyd career. That’s what’s going to make this even more special. You’ll get to hear a mixture of songs from across the lifespan of Pink Floyd. There hasn’t been an opportunity like this in several years.

He’s not trying to show off Pink Floyd of bring back its glory. He is a man on a mission. He’s not going to be focused on anything but love. He wants to bring everyone together. He wants to get rid of the us and them dichotomy and have everyone hold hands. If anyone can do it it’s him. Make sure to buy your tickets to the Roger Waters Tour. You won’t get another opportunity like this.
