Rihanna Tickets for Sale
Rihanna is a freaking celebrity triple threat. She is a multi-platinum singer, a big box-office actress, and a hurdle for anyone trying to date Chris Brown. This is a credit to her ambition and her lingering presence. It is the reason dance stations love her music, everyone hates Chris, and Beyonce told Jay-Z to put a ring on it. Really, it is difficult to think of a more powerful cultural force in the world of hip hop and dance than Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty and that is the reason Rihanna tickets are going to continue to sell out for her upcoming Diamonds World Tour in 2013.
Incredibly the Diamonds World Tour is her fifth world tour and is meant to promote her seventh studio album. By the way, Rihanna is not even 25 years old yet. This latest concert schedule begins on March 8, 2013 in Buffalo, New York at the First Niagara Center and will eventually take to at least Europe, Asia, and Australia. Those legs have not been announced yet but surely the title indicates there are more than a 30 North American shows to come. Those concerts end on May 7, 2013 at the Barclays Center in the New York borough of Brooklyn. There the hip hop industry may get what it has wanted for five years, a cat fight between Beyonce and Rihanna. More likely, it will just be a great show and a chance for fans to boo Chris Brown.
Yet another Chris Brown reference! Well, as long as Rihanna keeps playing a big part in his life, whether it be forcing a court date or influencing who he dates, these two will be Ike and Tina Turner for the 21st Century. Sure people may feel a little shame for reading about Chris’s breakup with Vietnamese-American model Karrueche Tran but they have to know what the model and the singer said during the heart to heart.
In the meantime, Rihanna will continue to prep the world for the release of Unapologetic. Come November this studio album is going to number one around the world and will be a sixth platinum album for the Barbados born and raised dancehall diva. However, those sales and downloads will not be just a result of controversy. They will also a result of her musical transformation.
She arrived on the scene as a reggae singer with long legs back in 2005 and quickly took some steps to improve her vocal range. The result is a performer dabbling in teen pop, R&B, and dance. Essentially Ne-Yo helped her avoid disappearing into the fray after Music of the Sun, her last true reggae album dropped and barely went gold. If not for this change she would be supporting herself as a featured artist, not the main voice behind hits like Unfaithful, Umbrella, Don’t Stop the Music, Take a Bow, Only Girl, and We Found Love. This is quite a list of multiplatinum singles. Yes, Rihanna has even more but the list getting a bit too long to remain readable. Thus, Rihanna concert tickets for this next tour will be bumping and thumping on the door of the best-selling list of the year
Rihanna was born on February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados. She wanted to be a singer like Mariah Carey, Brandy, and Beyonce. That led her and two friends starting a group when she was attending Charles F. Broome Memorial School at the age of 15. It did not hurt that the she won Miss Combermere Beauty Pageant, and when the group went in and performed for Jay-Z the other two performers seemed to disappear once she entered the room. Rihanna seemed destined to not only sell her share of albums and concert tickets, but also to become a celebrity infused into pop culture.
Jay-Z would sign her to Def Jam. She had already moved to the United States, staying with record producer Evan Rogers and his wife in Connecticut. The now signed Rihanna began working on material for a debut album. That album, Music of the Sun, was released on August 30, 2005 and peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Though the album charted well, it was a minor commercial success. The R&B/pop singer was a platinum performer in Canada, but only a gold certified act in the UK and the U.S. Rihanna would not embark on a promotional tour for the album, instead waiting for her sophomore album to start putting her name on tickets.
Those Rihanna tickets were for supporting gigs for Gwen Stefani in 2006 and the Pussycat Dolls in early 2007. The second album, A Girl Like Me, was released just eight months after her debut record. Songs like SOS and Unfaithful were hits on the singles charts and began to make her standout from the crowded field of female R&B and pop singers. Her natural beauty was paired with an endorsement from Clinique and Secret and she suddenly had a notable presence on commercials, the radio, and celebrity news.
The artist stayed busy, returning to the studio in early 2007 with Ne-Yo, Stargate and Timbaland to put together material for her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad. A Girl Like Me had gone platinum and the third album promised to be the undeniable break out album. The artist and the producers worked quickly and released the third record on June 5, 2007.
The album's anthem seemed to be the lead single Umbrella, which was unmber one on the UK charts for 10 weeks in a row. Shut Up and Drive and Don't Stop the Music kept her fans and the radio stations busy. Rihanna was featured on tickets for the Glow in the Dark Tour with Kanye West as she began to heavily promote her album, spending more time on stage and less time in the studio for the first time since she began a truly professional musician.
Rihanna also went on her own headlining tour, called The Good Girl Gone Bad Tour. The tour sold plenty of tickets and the album was re-released with eight new singles on June 17, 2008. Good Girls Gone Bad: Reloaded helped keep the buzz for the state-side double platinum album going. Next came some award recognition. Rihanna won the American Music Award fro Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Artist in 2008. She has since returned to the studio to focus on creating her fourth album and hold off selling more Rihanna tickets.
