Texan Rhett Miller is a singer/songwriter from Dallas. He is best known for as the front man of the alt-country band the Old 97's. The band was formed in 1993 and released their debut LP, "Wreck Your Life" in 1995. The group issued their next album, "Fight Songs," in 1999. In the very same years the band re-released the early-1994 recorded "Hitchhike to Rhome." The Old 97's returned with a brand new compilation of songs, "Satellite Rides," in 2001. The band was widely praised by critics and received extensive airplay on college radio stations across America.
But that is not all Rhett Miller is known for. He has been a successful solo performer too. He issued his first solo album, "Mythologies," in 1989. The album was produced by future Old 97's bassist and songwriter Murray Hammond. The album was a compilation of acoustic folk songs. Miller and Hammond also performed together as the Ranchero Brothers, The outfit was actually a guinea pig for testing new music for the Old 97's.
