The famous American rock band, Mars Volta is currently on its happening tour with Frusciante's "Red Hot Chili Peppers" running throughout summer/Fall tour of 2006. Red Hot Chili Peppers are a well known and one of the most heard Grammy Award-winning, rock band. the band was founded in Los Angeles in 1983 by Anthony Kiedis, Michael Balzary, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Irons. Started with an original name of "Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem", The Red Hot Chili Peppers have composed and recorded several songs addressing varied political and social topics.
Known for its wild, brisk, and extremely improvised live shows, mysterious lyrics, and use of ambient music, Mars Volta was founded by Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Began as a local band, Mars Volta covered different genres and produced a unique sound. The first album released by the band was "How do you dub? You Fight for Dub. You plug Dub in". Later the band came up with their second album "Megaton Shotblast" in 2001 which received instantaneous response and noticed quickly. During 2001, two songs recorded by the band with Alex Newport became their first demo. Along with three other new tracks, they released their new album "Tremulant EP" in early 2002.
The Mars Volta continued touring after the release of "Tremulant EP" while preparing for their new work "De-Loused in the Comatorium" which was produced with Rick Rubin. De-Loused proved to be one of their biggest hit after "Frances the Mute" released in 2005. While on tour with the "Red Hot Chili Peppers" for promoting their album, Jeremy Ward, band's sound manipulator was found dead of a heroin overdose. The tour was canceled dedicating the first single from De-Loused was later dedicated to Ward.

It was announced by the band publicist, in a press release on July 28th 2006, "The Mars Volta cast that performed Amputechture will be modified for live dates that begin imminently, with drummer Jon Theodore replaced by Blake Fleming, formerly of Laddio Bolocko and Dazzling Killmen and actually the drummer who played on the very first Mars Volta demos. Pablo Hinojos-Gonzalez will expand his role, contributing both guitar and sound manipulation skills. Finally, while not a member of the touring Mars Volta band per se, Amputechture contributor John Frusciante, on the other hand, will be in close proximity, as his Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Mars Volta are scheduled to tour together through November 2006."
The group performed a new song "Rapid Fire Tollbooth" live on September 23, 2006 in Milwaukee, WI, while being on tour with "Red Hot Chili Peppers". The opening of live show in Rutherford, New Jersey on October 17th, was done with unexpected entry of new drummer Deantoni Parks was noticed.
After their Fall tour with Frusciante's Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Mars Volta is planning to launch their own headlining tour across North America that is going to last "well into 2007 whereas Red Hot Chili Peppers will be touring the United States with Gnarls Barkley from mid January to March of 2007.Charlie Bell has joined as the Chili Pepper's new guitar player and will be touring with the Chili's during the 2007 international tour.
