This British band is neither alternative nor indie nor electronica. Radiohead is a dynamic musical force that has willingly embraced modern music in all its forms. They have been a grunge outfit in the early 1990s, singing with great lament and one heck of a guitar evoking plenty of emotion. Radiohead tickets and albums took a turn toward the computer generated music movement of the end of the century. Now, the band is back with a significant guitar presence on its latest album, The King of Limbs.
This new album has been out for half a year and now Thom York has gone public and promised a 10 month touring schedule, beginning in February and ending in November 2012. So far, only a 10 concert dates have been announced, but this just means that dozens more U.S. and European cities and venues will be hosting massive crowds with Radiohead concert tickets.
Radiohead, comprised of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, and Phil Selway, is most certainly going to enjoy this next tour. This is a group that began as nothing more than secondary school students playing together in the 1980s. They took time off to go to college and became another group on the tour circuit in Britain's independent music scene. This innervation of the group, then known as the On a Friday, enjoyed nothing but criticism from the British music press.
