P.M. Dawn is well known hip hop / R&B musical group formed in 1988 in Jersey City, New Jersey. The group was founded by brothers Attrell Cordes and Jarrett Cordes. The group is getting popular because of its impressive sound and wonderful instrumental hip-hop. The Cordes brothers spend a poor childhood. Their father died of pneumonia when they were very young. Another tragedy in their family included a very early demise of their two year old brother Duncan who drowned. Their mother remarried to George Brown. The two children were raised by them. Their stepfather was member as well as the co-founder of Kool & the Gang.

The band "P.M Dawn" released its first album " Of the Heart, of the Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience" in 1991. This album proved to be a great hit for the band. It featured the class hit single "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" which sampled the Spandau Ballet song True" and "Paid In Full" by Eric B and Rakim. The single peaked the Billboard Hot 100 chart with no. 1 position for one week. It also topped the charts in the United Kingdom achieving 3rd position . In early 1992, the follow-up single "Paper Doll" also attained a grand success and peaked at #28. Following this tremendous success of their debut album, the band went on a world tour to support the band. This world tour generated a huge fan-base to the band.

In 1993, P.M. Dawn came up with its new album "The Bliss Album...?". This album featured backing vocals by Cathy Dennis and sampled George Michael's hit "Father Figure" in the super hit track. The other hit single of the album was "I'd Die Without You" was featured in the soundtrack of 1992 comedy film, "Boomerang". Later the band came up with a duet "More Than Likely" recorded with Boy George. P.M Dawn's follow-up album "Jesus Wept" in 1995 didn't attain much success but its highest charting single "Downtown Venus" peaked the Billboard charts at #48.

Their fourth album "Dearest Christian, I'm So Very Sorry For Bringing You Here, Love Dad" relsaed in 1998 was again a moderate success with a minor hit single, "Being So Not For You". Their greatest hit include "The Best of P.M. Dawn" released in 2000 which compiled all their class hit earlier singles along with some new additions. The band won the fifth round of smash hit TV show "Hit Me Baby One More Time" in June 2005 with their amazing performance on "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss" and covered Puddle of Mudd's "Blurry". They altruistically donated the prize money of $20,000 to Child Diabetes research.

Year 2005 brought some important changes in the band's line up as the band member J.C left the band to pursue his solo career. The band was joined by Dr. Giggles who is a family member. The band went on a tour in the summer of 2006 across the country to promote their latest album "P.M. Dawn Loves You" which is expected to be released by the end of the year.
