Peter Bjorn And John
Peter Bjorn and John are the Swedish group that made a name for itself with the single "Young Folks." The group consists of Peter Moren on vocals, guitar, and harmonica; Njorn Yttling on bass, keyboards, and backup vocals; and John Eriksson on drums, percussion, and backup vocals. The group began by selling tickets for a show on a boat. The show did not go well.
The band, which took its name from the first name of all its members, still played simply because they wanted to have a good time making some music they liked. Moren and Yttling had been playing together since they were in high school and originally disbanded, but started playing together in Stockholm once they met Erickson. The group admits its name seems silly but insist that most bands have ridiculous names, so why not? As Peter Bjorn and John the group has been fortunate enough to sell tickets to their laid back shows played as much for their own enjoyment as the fans.
Peter Bjorn and John has found influences in the Stone Roses, Ride, classic 1960s baroque pop, power pop, and new wave. This long list of sounds has helped craft a sound that makes the band more than just a collection of renditions. In fact, artists like Kanye West have sampled their breakout single "Young Folks" and performers like James Blunt and the Kooks have released covers.

 The groups first album, a self-titled production recorded at their home, brought rave reviews from local critics and by there third album, Writer's Block, the group had crawled up the independent charts and created a name and respect for themselves. Peter Bjorn and John tickets were selling throughout Europe and fans in the United States were clamoring for them.
The latest album, Living Thing, is due out in late March 2009 and will be promoted by a tour that OnlineSeats will have tickets for. This may not have many venues with a seating chart, but there are still great deals on concerts throughout the tour schedule.
