Created in 1992 and currently headquartered in Colorado, the Professional Bull Riders Inc. was created by 20 visionary bull riders who broke away from the traditional rodeo circuit. Each rider invested a $1000 of his own money to start what is today known as PBR (Professional Bull Riders). Today the organization is owned by 44 cowboys, management and Spire Capital who acquired the interests of the retired founding riders in 2007. The PBR association currently has more than 1,200 bull riders from the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico who all hold PBR memberships. Qualifying for the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas is the ultimate goal of every PBR cowboy and this is where the coveted title of Professional Bull Rider World Champion is decided. Touted as the fastest growing sport in the country the PBR continues to grow, their attendance attracts over 1.5 million attendees each year.
