Background- Patty Griffin, was born on 16th March in the year 1964, in Old Town, Maine, next to the Penobscot Indian reservation. She is a famous singer-songwriter from America. She released a demo tape, that proved her inherent talent. On the basis of that, A&M Records signed up Patty. Her first studio album was produced by Nile Rodgers. But that album was not released, instead A&M released a new version of her demo tape, and named it "Living with Ghosts". It was a great hut.

After Living with Ghosts, came Flaming Red which was released in the year 1998. This album was different from the first one as it didn't sounded acoustic, but the album was a mixture of calm, quiet and flat-out rock and roll songs. The song "Tony" from this album became a huge hit and it also appeared on the charitable album "Live in the X Lounge". Next she recorded "Silver Bell" which sounded similar like the other albums. Due to some reason this album was not released by A&M. Patty then recorded some of the songs from the album for her later releases. Songs such as "Making Pies" from 1000 Kisses, and "Mother of God," "Standing," and "Top of the World" from Impossible Dream, and others have been covered by the Dixie Chicks. After "Silver Bell was released Patty left A&M. She then signed up with Dave Matthews' ATO Records. Under the new label, Patty released three albums. She was also nominated for Grammy Award in the year 2002 for the album 1000 Kisses.
