Panic! at the Disco is an ensemble of five gifted musicians Jon Walker, Ryan Ross, Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith. The band through the combination of dance, electronica, and pop punk have formulated a fusion sound.
The founders of the band have been guitarist Ryan Ross and drummer Spencer Smith who also happens to be friends since their childhood. Later Brendon Urie for vocals and for playing bass Brent Wilson were inducted in the band. There were different stories behind origin of name for the band. The name came from the song Panic which was authored by Name Taken.
Panic! at the Disco  released their debut album on 27th September, 2005 titled 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'. The album is divided in two halves. The numbers from 1 to 7 have futuristic instruments like drum machines and synthesizers. While the songs from 9 to 13 are composed through utilizing traditional instruments like Vaudevillian piano and accordion. The album was very successful selling more than million records. 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out' also featured on the charts topping at #13 on the Billboard 200 chart. In August the album became a platinum album.
On 17th January, 2006 the band featured on the TRL of MTV. There Panic! at the Disco for the first time for I Write Sins Not Tragedies showed the music video. It proved to be a very successful video. On the TRL countdown it appeared at #10 while in July on the Billboard 200 it attained the position of #13. The video was awarded Video of the Year by the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Panic! at the Disco won the award over such great artist like Shakira, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Christina Aguilera, and Madonna. The video was nominated for various other categories like Best Rock Video, Best Art Direction in a Video, Best Group Video and Best New Artist in a Video.

For the single But It's Better If You Do a music video was also released. The single was very much loved by the fans as featured at #23 on the charts after releasing in United Kingdom on 1st May, 2006. Same month Panic! at the Disco just completed their hugely successful shows in Europe. Their concerts were sold out concerts with some shows selling all the tickets in just few hours. Later they went to North American touring with many other groups like The Dresden Dolls, OK Go, Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque and The Hush Sound.

On 13th June 2003 Panic! at the Disco released as EP known as ' Live Session'. There are three songs on 'Live Session' But It's Better If You Do, I Write Sins Not Tragedies and Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off. Video for Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off was released in the next month in July.
