Orgy is an alternative rock band based at Los Angeles, California. They have self-described their music as "electro-pop" or "death-pop." Orgy was formed by guitarist Ryan Shuck, once a guitarist of Jonathan Davis' original band called Sexart, when he assisted them in their eventual signing to Korn's label Elementree Records and by the famous vocalist Jay Gordon who is de facto ex-member of Deadsy and was formed in the year 1997. Later Bassist Paige Haley born at Oakland, California, guitarist Amir Derakh, and drummer Bobby Hewitt born at Los Angeles, California joined and completed the group. All of these three were professionals of the local L.A. club "scene". Derakh was a member of previously famed group Rough Cutt formed in the 80s and was a metal band. Hewitt was previously a member of Electric Love Hogs. Gordon and Derakh had also some experience in producing record labels. They had previously produced Coal Chamber's self-titled cd. As far as the name of the band is concerned the band claimed the name of the band had no sexual reference, but pointed to the kind of "collage" of different styles of music in their style of music. Without even playing a single live show and within six months of formation, they had signed a contract with Elementree Records
