Tampa Bay Bucs tickets have been available since 1976. Many people forget, but the Buccaneers of the majority of the 1980s, a team clad in pewter and habitually rolled over, are not an accurate depiction of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Lee Roy Selmon was the face of the franchise. A terrifying defensive end, he made six pro bowls, won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1979, and recorded 78.5 sacks in his career. Those Buccaneer teams went to the playoffs three times from 1979 to 1982. Those seasons would be lost in history as the team fell into mediocrity until Tony Dungy took over in 1996 and instituted the powerful Tampa-2, a Cover 2 scheme that dominated the league until the middle of the first decade of the 21st century. However, Dungy would not be on the sidelines for the Bucs one and only Super Bowl win in 2002. John Gruden had been ousted from the Raiders and his offensive genius perfectly complimented the strong defensive system already in place. The Buccaneers went 12-4 in 2002, their best franchise record to date, and rolled over the competition. Tampa beat the 49ers in the Divisional Playoffs 31-6, hamstrung Donovan McNabb and defeated the Eagles 27-10 in the NFC Championship game, and demolished the Oakland Raiders 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVII. That season Derrick Brooks, Simeon Rice, and Dexter Jackson were the leaders of one of the best defenses in NFL history. OnlineSeats has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets to Raymond James Stadium to enjoy the 2012 season as Josh Freeman tries to put a few more two-minute drives together and actually reach the postseason.
