The St. Louis Rams are one four 0-5 teams in the NFL this season. The fans had to hope that things would have improved after last season, but those prayers have not been answered. Somehow I doubt that selling the team to a group led by Rush Limbaugh is the answer. The Rams have lost heir last 15 football games and when it will stop no one knows. The best chances to stop the bleeding are coming up in Week 6 against the Jaguars and Week 8 against the Lions.

The Rams are tied for second to last in the NFL on offense with 14.5 points a game and have the second to worst scoring defense, allowing 29.2 points a game. They can run the ball. That is about it. Marc Bulger does not have the time or the receivers to lead a decent passing offense and the defense cannot stop the run or the pass. Everything is woe in Edwards Jones Dome.

The few standouts on the football team are defensive end Leonard Little who has three sacks and running back Stephen Jackson who has managed to average 4.3 yards a carry and has amassed 451 yards despite the lack of an offensive line.

The only difference no the field between injured starting quarterback Marc Bulger and backup Kyle Boller is that Bulger has been able to avoid throwing a pick. Both players are averaging an awful yards per throw (around 5.6-5.7), are completed between 56 and 57 percent of their passes, and have just two touchdown passes. This is with each player essentially splitting time behind center. Perhaps the best thing for the Rams to do is adopt some form of the Wildcat and let Jackson run like a maniac for the rest of the season.

The Rams football season is already over playoff wise, but they can still salvage a little respect by putting up a fight and finding a few gems. The rest of the season is going to be interesting to see if the team can remain entertaining enough to hold the fans interest and avoid blacking out games due to a local disinterest in Rams tickets.
