At 3-5, the Seattle Seahawks are in third place in the NFC West. Once again they had to go without Matt Hasselbeck for a few games, going 0-2 with Seneca Wallace starting at quarterback. The team needs to have a very good second half of the schedule to have any chance of making the NFL playoffs. The first step would be to have a healthy Hasselbeck. With Hasselbeck at quarterback they have the potential to blowout teams. He is one of the least appreciated quarterbacks in football if you live anywhere but Seattle. They recognize that he has the accuracy to move the ball down the field. Surely Nate Burleson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and John Carlson appreciate it when they can reach for decent passes. Wallace has the arm, but not the touch to be an NFL quarterback. The Seahawks offense struggles running the football, having the third worse per game rushing yards in the league. The hope that Julius Jones is the answer at running back is now clearly a dream. Jones is picking up just 3.6 yards a carry and only has two touchdowns. Seattle's defense is pretty middle of the road in the NFL, allowing 20.9 points a game (14th) and 322.5 yards of offense a game (14th). They do nothing particularly well, but are not awful either. The remaining eight games on the schedule have some major challenges. They play the division leaders Cardinals, the nearly perfect Vikings, the surging 49ers, and the potentially offensively devastating Texans. Luckily three of the final five games are at home at Qwest Field. Look for your Seahawks tickets here at OnlineSeats to find the best prices on the best seats to these exciting games.
