Pittsburgh Steelers tickets have been available since 1933. Then nicknamed the Pirates, the team remained at the bottom of the standings until the franchise became the Steelers and Chuck Knoll took over as head coach in the 1970s. That decade the Steelers forged their name and their franchise identity as a team that will always punish the opposition with an attacking defense. The Steelers won four Super Bowls in the 1970s with quarterback Terry Bradshaw, fullback Franco Harris, and wide receiver Lynn Swan on offense and Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, and the rest of the Steel Curtain. This is perhaps the greatest dynasty ever in the NFL, surpassing event the exploits of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s. Pittsburgh dabbled with mediocrity in the 1980s, but was still able to pull through with two AFC Central division titles. Yet, it was Bill Cowher and the defense of the 1990s that would return the franchise to great heights. The defense featured a new Steel Curtain, one with Kevin Greene, Greg Lloyd, and Joey Porter patrolling the field as linebackers. The offense never quite had a Pro Bowl quarterback, but it managed to put points on the board with Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, and Kordell Stewart. The Pittsburgh Steelers won five AFC Central division titles from 1992 to 1997, but failed to win a Super Bowl. That Super Bowl came in 2005, when the Pittsburgh Steelers finally found their franchise quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Running back Jerome Bettis retired after the season, finally having his Super Bowl ring. The Steelers won 21-10 over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL. Roethlisberger forged a bond with receivers Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes and Rashard Mendenhall developed into an everyday back, which allowed the Steelers to return to the big game in 2008. The Steelers won 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII. This championship came under the leadership of new head coach Mike Tomlin. OnlineSeats has the Pittsburgh Steelers tickets to Heinz Field for every game on the Steelers postseason schedule in 2012 and for the next regular season schedule, so find your seats to enjoy watching Roethlisberger as he continues to bild his Hall of Fame resume and the defense continues to revive the term the Steel Curtain.
