Washington Redskins 2009 Playoffs
The Washington Redskins may have a history of Super Bowl success in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, but ever since Mark Rypien won the Super Bowl MVP in 1991 the team has had a tough time even making the postseason. Redskins playoff tickets have been available tow out of the last three seasons, but the team has barely made it past the regular season in those two years.
The Redskins of late may be more identified with a terrific defense than a capable offense, but the 2005 edition in Washington featured Mark Brunell at quarterback, Clinton Portis in a record breaking year at running back, and Santan Moss in a record breaking year at receiver. That year was also the first season for Jason Campbell, the quarterback that would help lead the Redskins to playoff ticket in 2007. Campbell developed into a serviceable quarterback in that 2007 season with flashes of brilliance that could ignite the potentially explosive Washington offense again soon.

Campbell hopes that 2008 is the season he reaches his potential and those flashes of brilliance last quarters, half, and even games. Washington’s offense has incredible weapons in Portis, Moss, and Antwaan Randle El. Randle El has always had the big play potential that teams love in a second receiver, but he has yet to deliver. Luckily while Randle El has remained a mystery, Chris Cooley has been a tight end a quarterback can count on to catch anything thrown to him. The defense again is expected to be dominant and keep the Redskins in any game against any offense. Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin, linebacker London Fletcher, and cornerback Shawn Springs lead a veteran defense. Still in order to advance beyond the regular season in the difficult NFC East to provide fans with Redskins playoff tickets Campbell and the offense will need to click.
