The Indianapolis Colts of the AFC South are one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL. The 9-0 team has done this with a dominant defense, a great passing attack, and a few lucky decisions. They are almost guaranteed a spot in the postseason now and are working toward home field advantage throughout the AFC side of the playoffs. Perhaps the most fortunate moment this season came when Patriots' coach Bill Belichick chose to go for it on fourth down and two deep in his own territory with just 2:08 second remaining in the game. The Colts stopped the Patriots and marched down the field at Lucas Oil Stadium to take the lead 35-34 and win the game. This was one of the few games in which the Colts defense seemed dumbfounded by the opposition. The defense ranks first in the NFL in scoring defense, holding teams to 15.8 points a game. They are pretty average against the pass and the run, but excel at creating turnovers. They have nine interceptions and eight fumble recoveries so far in 2009 and the Colts have a turnover margin of plus 8. Indianapolis is led by the offense though. Quarterback Peyton Manning is at the center of it all and has the third best QB Rating while leading the league in touchdown passes. He has been having a great season and has receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark on pace for more than 100 catches and 1,000 yards. He then makes whoever else is on the field look good. The major issue for the Colts is the running game. Joseph Addai is a great catching the football out of the backfield, but he has never been a great running the football out of the backfield. He is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. Rookie Donald Brown has been a great change of pace back, but he is not going to be carrying the load come postseason. The Indianapolis Colts remaining schedule has challenging games against the Ravens, Texans, Broncos, and Jaguars coming up, but they also have what should be easy wins against the Titans, Jets, and Bills. Three of these final seven games are at home at Lucas Oil Stadium so find your Indianapolis Colts tickets and see if this team can go perfect.
