The Green Bay Packers have been the odd man out in the NFC North race. They are 2-2 and now are behind the Bears in third place. The season opening win against the Bears seemed to be a good omen, but the Week 4 loss to Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings has put the entire season in question and reopened the wound that last season's Favre debacle left. Without Favre the Packers have been led by Aaron Rodgers. Despite Rodgers being one of just six quarterbacks with a quarterback rating over 100, fans have to wonder if this team would be 4-0 with Favre. Favre has the third best quarterback rating in the league and his team just beat Green Bay to go 4-0. Rodgers still is firmly entrenched in the position if you ask the coaches. He has six touchdown passes, just one interception, and 1098 yards passing in just four games. His favorite targets are Donald Driver, deep threat Greg Jennings, and tight end Jermichael Finley. The Packers have been able to easily move the football through the air, but has struggled on the ground, much like last season. Ryan Grant is averaging a commendable 3.8 yards a carry and Aaron Rodgers has been effective running out of the pocket. Of course Rodgers has to be agile since the offense line has allowed him to be sacked a deplorable 20 times in just four weeks. Also like last season, the scoring defense is having troubles. They are giving up 23.3 points a game. The front seven simply cannot stop the run and the secondary allow too many passing yards. The one redeeming factor is that the Packers defense has forced 10 turnovers. The Green Bay Packers have to fix a number of holes on the offense and defense if they want to rebound from these first difficult weeks. Luckily a bye in the fifth week lets them catch their breath and games against the Lions and Browns could serve as confidence boosters for the rematch with Minnesota.
