The Bills thought that bringing in Terrell Owens would give Trent Edwards another weapon and make the Bills offense one of the most dangerous in the NFL. Edwards showed signs of stardom over the 2008 season, but before the first game on the 2009 NFL schedule the team's offensive coordinator. The Bills have been unable to move the football since the second week and have gone 1-4 and fallen to last place in the AFC East. The lone win came in the second week against the Tampa Bay Bucs, who are now arguably the worst football team in the NFL. The season started out with a respectable loss to the Patriots, but starting in Week 3 things just got worse. The Saints beat them by 20, the Dolphins manhandled the team and won by 28, and the Bills hit bottom when they failed to score more than three points in a 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The Buffalo defense may be able to stop the Bucs and Browns from scoring, but teams with a decent offense have averaged 30 points a game. The Bills offense has just become abysmal. Owens has 12 catches in five games and Edwards has a quarterback rating of 71.4. The offense has made things even worse by turning the ball over 11 times while the defense has managed to take the ball back five measly times. This is not the season to be a Bills fan and sit in the cold stands at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Owens has kept quiet, but rumors are beginning to swirl that the team could trade the once all-world receiver. Dick Jauron will likely lose his job before the end of the season unless this team figures something out. The bright spot this season has been Fred Jackson. The third-year running back played very well while Marshawn Lynch missed the first three games. Lynch has stolen the starting job back, but this could be a potential lethal running back combination if the coaches choose to abandon the passing game and try and adopt a Dolphins-style offense. The Buffalo Bills schedule ahead has a challenging football game against a Jets team looking to reassert its dominance after losing to the Dolphins on Monday night. The Carolina Panthers game is another one with a team searching for redemption. Then the passing prolific Houston Texans come to town. The Bills defense has actually been pretty decent against the pass, but the Matt Schaub-Andre Johnson connection could prove to be too much for the cornerbacks.
