Background - Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have struggled since with the offensive limitations that were temporarily relieved by Jamal Lewis. In the end season tickets have given fans a view of a crushing defense led by Ray Lewis that hits quarterbacks hard and stops the runs as good as any team in the league.

2009 Season Preview
|
 The Baltimore Ravens surprised the NFL with an 11-5 record and a wild card postseason spot that took them to the AFC Championship Game. The Ravens lost 23-14, but the season was a smashing success as the tremendous defense finally found an explosive offense to pair up with to create a complete football team. Joe Flacco took the opening snap of the season and managed to hit enough big plays to average 24 points a game.
The 2009 season looks very bright indeed. The defense's biggest worry is age. Will its key players, defensive tackle Kelly Greg, linebacker Ray Lewis, and safety Ed Reed, be able to ward off the creaks and cracks of years on the football field to remain one of the top defensive units in the NFL.
The offense has found its savior in Joe Flacco. His numbers were far from overwhelming, but his arm gives running backs LeRon McClain and Willis McGahee, some freddom to run without eight men in the box. The Ravens could use a good slot receiver or perhaps a number two receiver to match up with Derrick Mason.
