Philadelphia 76ers Tickets

The Philadelphia 76ers went into the 2012 season with high expectations, especially after a post season run where they almost played for the conference title. They acquired former Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum in a blockbuster trade that sent 76ers swing man Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets.

They also received Jason Richardson from the Bynum trade, they signed Nick Young, and Kwame Brown. The new additions were supposed to get them over the hump, and compete with the Miami Heat on paper, the problem was that games aren't won on paper, they have to be played.

Injuries to Andrew Bynum prevented him from playing a single game in a Philadelphia Uniform, despite him promising to play at some point during the season. The loss of Iguodala also proved difficult to overcome especially with Bynum present. The only bright side was the play of guard Jrue Holiday, and despite not having Bynumn in the lineup, the 76ers were only four games out of the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

This offseason, the 76ers got rid of their Head Coach Doug Collins, and replaced him with Brett Brown. They traded the one of the few bright spots from last season Jrue Holiday for New Orleans Pelicans rookie Nerlens Noel and future draft picks. They acquired Royce White from the Houston Rockets in addition to James Anderson, and Tim Ohlbrecht.

The 76ers lost Andrew Bynum to Cleveland through free agency, as well as Charles Jenkins, Dorell Wright, and Nick Young. The 76ers are going to be one of the youngest teams in the league this season and they will go through some growing pains. They are not expected to compete for a playoff spot this year because they are in rebuilding mode right now. Look for the 76ers to be major players in the 2014 free agent market where they will have a lot of cap room to spend on big time free agents, they will also have high draft picks which they can use to trade for future considerations.
