Los Angeles Clippers Tickets

The Los Angeles Clippers enter the 2013 NBA playoffs as a very good defensive team that does an excellent job moving the basketball. They also happen to be 100 percent healthy. This means Los Angeles Clippers tickets to the Staples Center are very likely to give fans an opportunity to watch a conference semifinals or finals game live.

Of course, point guard Chris Paul is the most important player on the offensive end. He remains a point with excellent vision and a player still capable of playing great on-the-ball defense. Yes, Blake Griffin is still an amazing player to watch when he rolls to the basket for a lob. He is still incredibly quick too, which makes him a very good post player. Add four perimeter players, of which only two needs to be on for this team to win, and the Clips should be able to make a very decent chance of at least advancing to the second round.

Los Angeles Clippers History

Woe, are the Los Angeles Clippers! The franchise has played in Buffalo as the Braves in the 1970s and in San Diego as the Clippers later in the decade before moving to Los Angeles by the middle of the 1980s to play second fiddle to the Lakers in Los Angeles. Over the course of this journey, the basketball team struggled in each of location. They had the most success in its first destination. In Buffalo the franchise had Bob McAdoo, Adrian Dantley, and Randy Smith. These future Hall of Fame players delivered three winning seasons.

In San Diego, Bill Walton was supposed to turn the tide for the franchise. However, Walton was constantly injured and the Clips almost always finished in last place. This continued after the move north to LA. By the beginning 1990s it appeared the franchise may have turned things around with Danny Manning and Loy Vaught, but this was short lived. After three postseason series in four years, the Clips returned to the bottom of the standings in the Western Conference. Even the brief addition of Dominique Wilkins could not keep the club above a .500 record.

Instead, it took the arrival of Chris Paul to turn things around for what fans hope is for good. Before Paul, everyone from Andre Miller to Lamar Odom to Sam Cassel tried to rescue this team in the 21st century. These teams tended to be very young and very talented. Still, these players fell short, unable to compete in an absolutely loaded division and conference.

Only after the superstar Paul chose to play on this L.A. team did the franchise enjoy status as a perennial playoff team. In addition to Paul, this edition of the Los Angeles Clippers has Blake Griffin, Jamal Crawford, and a host of athletic wing players to challenge the very best in the Western Conference.
