Los Angeles Clippers Tickets

Los Angeles Clippers are one of the frontline basketball teams in the NBA. Led by head coach Doc Rivers and assistant coaches Alvin Gentry, Kevin Eastman , Armond Hill and Tyronn Lue, the team is gearing up to deliver an even better 2013-2014 season than the last season where they found good success, having won the division championship. Sharing a budding rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakers, they finished with a better record amongst the two in the last season (and fifth time overall) and won season series for the second time in their history ever since they moved to Los Angeles in 1984. This team was previously based in Buffalo, New York and then moved to San Diego before finally settling in Los Angeles.

Led by maverick team captains, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, the team looks stronger than ever with latest acquisitions in Jared Dudley and J.J Redick, who came in trade for Eric Bledose and Caron Butler from the Bucks. Also, the team resigned their contracts with Matt Barnes, Chris Paul and Ryan Hollins with Paul’s deal running through for 5 years. They have also signed up Chauncey Billups and Antawn Jamison to strengthen the squad.

The team plays in the Staples Center which is their home arena. They play their first game of the new season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, 7th of October, followed by games against Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings on 12th of October and 14th of October respectively.

While everyone expects them to keep the good run going having being doing good for the last few seasons, Los Angeles Clippers will have to be wary of the inconsistency that plagues the team. If that is overcome, this team can be expected to set higher standards for itself this coming season. The budding rivalry with Los Angeles Lakers is sure to only take the performances higher.

Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers History

Woe, are the Los Angeles Clippers! The franchise has played in Buffalo as the Braves in the 1970s and in San Diego as the Clippers later in the decade before moving to Los Angeles by the middle of the 1980s to play second fiddle to the Lakers in Los Angeles. Over the course of this journey, the basketball team struggled in each of location. They had the most success in its first destination. In Buffalo the franchise had Bob McAdoo, Adrian Dantley, and Randy Smith. These future Hall of Fame players delivered three winning seasons.

In San Diego, Bill Walton was supposed to turn the tide for the franchise. However, Walton was constantly injured and the Clips almost always finished in last place. This continued after the move north to LA. By the beginning 1990s it appeared the franchise may have turned things around with Danny Manning and Loy Vaught, but this was short lived. After three postseason series in four years, the Clips returned to the bottom of the standings in the Western Conference. Even the brief addition of Dominique Wilkins could not keep the club above a .500 record.

Instead, it took the arrival of Chris Paul to turn things around for what fans hope is for good. Before Paul, everyone from Andre Miller to Lamar Odom to Sam Cassel tried to rescue this team in the 21st century. These teams tended to be very young and very talented. Still, these players fell short, unable to compete in an absolutely loaded division and conference.

Only after the superstar Paul chose to play on this L.A. team did the franchise enjoy status as a perennial playoff team. In addition to Paul, this edition of the Los Angeles Clippers has Blake Griffin, Jamal Crawford, and a host of athletic wing players to challenge the very best in the Western Conference.
