The Big D (Dallas, Texas) is ready to welcome back the start of the NBA season and their coveted team, the Dallas Mavericks. As training camp is just around the corner, Mavs fans and NBA fans alike across the Nation (and the World) are gearing up for what should be another great season for owner Mark Cuban of the Dallas Mavericks. With key star Dirk Nowitzki returning for another season and hungrier than ever for another championship ring, who could blame Mavs fans from getting excited? Even so, the biggest question going into the 2013/2014 season is who will make the final Mavs roster?

With training camp about to get underway, the Mavs have already made a few interesting moves, or rather additions, to their training camp participants by adding three potentially huge players: Fab Melo, D.J. Kennedy, and Richard McConnell. Center Fab Melo, who stands at seven feet tall, was Boston's first round pick last season, but only played in six games for the Celtics as he spent most of his days in Maine playing in the NBA Development League. Just a few weeks ago he was traded to, and released by, the Grizzlies and now added to the Mavs training camp. Guard-forward D.J. Kennedy played an instrumental role in Rio Grande Valley's championship win in the D-League this past season. Kennedy also played two games for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2011-2012 season and even scored twelve points in his NBA debut. Last, but certainly not least, guard Richard McConnell is coming to the United States off a great season over in Italy where he averaged 13.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. All three should definitely be watched closely throughout the training camp as potential roster spots.

No matter what great prospect emerges from the Mavs training camp (and there is surely to be at least one), all eyes in Dallas are on the Mavericks as fans patiently await the opening tip-off of the 2013-2014 NBA season that is just around the corner.
