Luol Deng missed a great deal of last season due to injury, but should be healthy this year and able to provide a huge lift at the small forward position. Rose, Kirk Hinrich and John Salmons, have enough offensive ability to score points from the outside, so the big question may be down low, where the Bulls have Tyrus Thomas, Joakim Noah, Brad Miller, and rookie James Johnson. These four must play physically and rebound well in order for the Bulls to win games.

After seeing Ben Gordon light up the Celtics in the playoffs last year, only to depart for Detroit in the offseason, it will be hard to imagine how the Bulls can seriously improve upon last season's performance. Although, after having missed large chunks of the past two seasons due to injury, look for Luol Deng to come back and make meaningful contributions. Chicago will also be relying heavily on the fact that several players may have really grown up in that epic battle against the Celtics.

Can Joakim Noah continue to turn back shots and run the floor the way he did against Kendrick Perkins? Can Salmons continue to drain shots from all corners of the court as he did against Boston's wings? Will the tandem of Brad Miller and Tyrus Thomas hit open shots the way they did against the 2008 NBA champions? If so, and being blessed with a star point guard like Derrick Rose, the Bulls will be much better this season.

With the significant strides they made last season – especially in the playoffs, and the huge amount of positive momentum the team must be carrying with them into this year, can a serious run at the championship be too far off in the future?
