Modest Mouse may not have a new album, but they do have a new tour. The group is taking the summer to traverse the country this summer. The 2012 summer tour schedule begins with a concert on May 19 in Stanford, California at the Frost Amphitheater and plays through June 26 in Columbus, Ohio for the show at Lifestyle Communities Pavilion. Modest Mouse tickets are on sale here at OnlineSeats to enjoy these latest performances from the pit and the stands at the venue.
The short summer trek may be brief because the group could be headed back into the studio to record a follow up to the EP No One's First and You're Next. This band lineup features lead singer Isaac Bruce, bass guitarist Eric Judy, drummer and percussionist Jeremiah Green, drummer and percussionist Joe Plummer, and guitarist Tom Peloso.
Modest Mouse rose to indie rock prominence in the 21st century, but the band began way back in 1994. Ten Isaac Brock, Jeremiah Green, Eric Judy, and John Wickhart released an EP – Blue Cadet-3, Do you Connnect? The EP was the first of several releases, but these albums and EPs would go unappreciated until the turn of the century. Only then would the critics come to the group's aid, giving the Moon & Architect the kind of buzz that would act as the fuel to spurn commercial success. Before the big break, nerves and pressure would lead to the departure of Dann Gallucci and he temporary departure of Jeremiah Green.
Miraculously, Modest Mouse survived. The band released Good News for People Who Love Bad News, the first platinum album from the group. The singles "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty" made the move from college radio to the mainstream. These Gold singles led to huge national tours in which the group headlined instead of opened.
The follow up to this first album is We Were Dad Before the Ship Even Sank. The 2007 album is also the last album from Modest Mouse. "Dashboard" and "Missed the Boat" made favorable impressions on the Billboard singles charts and the group took to touring full time and releasing little new material. OnlineSeats has the Modest Mouse tickets to see the group live.
