Left fielder Mark DeRosa, third baseman Pablo Sandoval, catcher Bengie Molina, and center fielder Aaron Rowand are the unlikely cast in a lagging offense. Still, this formula worked last season, so perhaps the Giants will be able to repeat as an overachieving baseball team.

 The San Francisco Giants were one of the original three New York Major League Baseball teams, but jumped ship and headed to the West Coast to find its way on baseball's manifest destiny in the ‘50s and ‘60s. After the move the fortunes changed. It seems that the anger and betrayal the fans from New York felt doomed the San Francisco-bound team. The new home run record holder was dogged by the steroid scandal lat in his career as the legitimacy of his number as an entirety has been questioned.
