San Diego Padres Tickets The San Diego Padres had a bad season in 2009 as they headed farther down the rebuilding road. The best hope is that Will Venable's promising half season turns into a great full season and Kyle Blanks turns a good third of a season into a great full season. San Diego's pitching staff has Chris Young as its ace despite the resigning of Jon Garland. The rotation is filled out with Kevin Correia, Clayton Richards, and Mat Latos. The best pitcher on the team is closer Heath Bell. This does not bode well for the Padres.

 The San Diego Padres had to wait nine seasons after the inaugural season for its first winning records in 1978. Unfortunately, Padres tickets descended into the bottom of the league right after. The Padres were not void of talent. Dave Winfield led the team in homeruns and run batted in throughout the ‘70s and Gaylord Perry won two Cy Young Awards, but the club could not transform the talent into wins. The winning started picking up in the 1980s. In 1984, after two 81-81 seasons, the San Diego rewarded those with Padres tickets with a rip to the World Series. That same year Tony Gwynn won his first batting trophy. He and Steve Garvey, Gary Templton, and Alan Wiggins won the National League West, came back from an 0-2 deficit to beat the Cubs, and lost to the Tigers after the engine ran out of fuel. The Padres would occasionally put up a fight, but not return to the World Series until 1998. Tony Gwynn, Ken Caminiti, Wally Joyner, Greg Vaughn, and Steve Finley provided the offense and Kevin Brown, Andy Ashby, and Trevor Hoffman provided the mound support. The Yankees ended the championship bid, and Padres tickets once again were available for a struggling team that played in beautiful weather.
