Minnesota Twins Tickets
The Twins history as the Senators was not without some highlights. Fans with tickets during the 1910s and the 1920s saw a team with stars like Walter Johnson, Goose Goslin, Sam Rice, and Bucky Harris. That era of Twins history yielded three pennants and one World Series victory, but the futile years that followed and the dive in sales of tickets that drove the franchise out of the capitol are fresher in the mind of baseball fans.
The move to Minnesota in 1961 was fresh start almost paid off immediately. The inaugural year in the north had new Twins fans with tickets to a playoff contender in its first two seasons. By 1965 Twins tickets were World Series tickets. The team lost, but the culture of winning had the Twins in contention or at least decent shape for the next few decades.
Eventually, the Minnesota Twins had to break free from the middle of the pack. That time came in the late 1980s and in the first half of the 1990s. Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Tom Brunanasky, Gary Gaetti, and Frank Viola would be the basis for a Twins team that competed for playoff tickets every season. The Twins came through with championships in 1978 and 1991 before returning to mediocrity. The turn of the century has been promising for the Twins. Season tickets see a Twins roster that regularly competes for the American League Central crown and the Wild Card.

 The Minnesota Twins won four straight games at the end of the 2009 MLB season schedule to pull off an incredible comeback and force the Detroit Tigers into a one-game playoff. The Twins then took the Tigers to 12 innings before finally winning 6-5 and earning the right to play the New York Yankees in the postseason. The Yankees then went on to sweep the Twins, who were running on fumes. The Twins made the improbable comeback after struggling with injuries and pitching all season long. Minnesota's pitching staff posted an uncharacteristically high ERA at 4.50, good for just 11th best in the AL. The baseball team searched in vain for more starters to fill out the rotation, but only Nick Blackburn and Scott Baker were solid throughout most of the season. Blackburn went 11-11 with a 4.03 ERA and Baker went 15-9 with a 4.37 ERA. Kevin Slowery, Franciso Liriano, and Glen Perkins simply could not hold there own on the mound. Replacements came and went and the excellent bullpen kept the games as close as they could once the starters took a seat. The Minnesota Twins were equally uncharacteristically explosive on offense. Joe Mauer missed the first month of the season due to injury, but dominated once making it back. The young catcher once again led the league in hitting with a .365 average He also hit 28 home runs and drove in 96 runs. The other power fixture on the club, first baseman Justin Morneau, went down with an injury late, but had 30 home runs before he missed the final 27 games of the season. Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel stepped up to the plate and provided instant offense with some power too. This Minnesota Twins club looks loaded for the inaugural season at Target Field. The 2010 season schedule should be something to behold with all that power suddenly on the Twins roster. If the pitching staff can get it together then this could be a serious team to consider a World Series threat. Minnesota Twins tickets could be something truly special in 2010.
