Kansas City Royals Tickets
The Kansas City Royals early years had a couple of growing pains, but by the late 1970s the Royals were a contender with fans saving for playoff tickets. Just eight seasons after playing their inaugural season, the Royals were in the American League Championship Series with the Yankees. From 1976 to 1978 the Royals season was ended in the ALCS by the Yankees, frustrating Royals fans with tickets waiting for the World Series.
It was not until 1980 that the Kansas City Royals were able overcome the Yankees and advance to the World Series. Excited fans held their championship tickets close to their heart as they entered "the" series for the first time. The Phillies defeated the young Royals club, but the experience helped George Brett and the boys prepare for the next trip in 1985.
The I-70 Series had Cardinals and Royals fans with tickets driving up and down Interstate 70 for the all-Missouri championship. George Brett and Bret Saberhagen took the Cards to seven games before defeating them, making use of all the World Series tickets. Royals fans celebrated, excitingly picking up season tickets expected years of playoff competition to follow.
Those hopes have yet to be realized as the fans with tickets to Kauffman Stadium witnessed the slow decline of a talented Royals small market team that went from great to good to not even competing. Kansas City has struggled to stretch their dollars in an age where big market times take their stars just as they begin to mature to the point of contention, leaving the Royals in a rut that fans with season tickets hope will end soon.

Kansas City Royals 2009 Recap
|
The Kansas City Royals 2009 MLB season started out so well. They were playing above .500 into the middle of May. Then the bottom fell out of the team's little early season schedule run and the Royals sank to the bottom of the AL Central standings. By season's end Kansas City had finished 65-97. The Royals tied for last place with the Cleveland Indians and chased fans from Kauffman Stadium to Arrowhead with uninspired baseball. The Royals struggled to hit and to pitch, finishing 13th in runs scored and 12th in ERA in the American League. The single positive story to come out of the summer was Zach Greinke. The starting pitcher was an all star and ended the season with a 16-8 record and an ERA of 2.16. He should have at least 20 games with his 26 quality starts in 33 opportunities, but the team offered little run support. Closer Joakim Soria actually also deserves mention. He had 30 saves and an ERA of 2.21, striking out batters at an incredible rate of 11.72 per nine innings. His K:BB ratio is ludicrous for the season at 4.31:1. The best hitter on the baseball team was Billy Butler. The 23 year old first baseman hit .301 and 21 home runs his third season. Not bad for a player without much protection in the lineup. The Kansas City Royals do not know what to promise for the 2010 season. This is still a very young team, so an early season run like they had this year could easily turn into a playoff spot next year. Kauffman Stadium will continue to be filled with sports fans with Kansas City Royals tickets either way, since the game is the very least a nice summer get away.
