Houston Astros Tickets The Houston Astros had a disappointing 2009 baseball season. They finished 74-88 and fifth in the National League Central. They managed to at least sport a winning record at Minute Maid Park, so Houston Astros tickets were worth buying to see them play live, but they were one of the worst MLB teams on the road, posting a 30-58 away record. The Astros began the rebuilding process in the winter after the season. The team hardly went crazy spending money on free agents for the 2010 season. Third baseman Pedro Feliz and starting pitching castoff Brett Myers came over from Philadelphia and the team signed relief pitcher Matt Lindstrom. Otherwise much of the roster remains the same. Young prospects J.R. Towles (catcher) and Tommy Manzella (shortstop) are penciled in as starters right now while Kazuo Matsui remains the starter at second base after failing to impress in 2009. The Astros still have a viable pair of all stars in first baseman Lance Berkman and left fielder Carlos Lee, a couple of talented young outfielders in Micheal Bourn and Hunter Pence, and a solid pair of starters in Wandy Rodriguez and Roy Oswalt. Of course, Houston lost its closer from last season (Jose Valverde) through free agency and is prepared to close games by committee this summer. The Astros could be competitive, but the almost complete lack of an attempt to improve the team is not a good sign. Still, this team will probably be solid at home and it could be interesting to see how Bud Norris develops as a starting pitcher (as well as how Brian Moehler continues to disintegrate as a starter).

 In 1962 the new baseball team in Houston celebrated their cowboy image. Three years later the space program came to town and Houston began selling Astros tickets. The years since have included an appearance in a Bad News Bears movie, one pennant, and six division titles. The Astros started out as a struggling expansion team just trying to find their way out of last place. Although the team improved in the ‘70s, it was not until the 1980s when Nolan Ryan and Joe Morgan were added for leadership that Houston seriously started to get ready for playoff tickets. The Astros ended up finishing in first three times that decade and contending in most of the remaining seasons. The next decade, Houston became enthralled with Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell. The duo played together from 1991 to 2005 and brought home four division titles, a couple of wild cards, and a World Series appearance. Astros tickets were worth it for the most part, with only two losing seasons over the 15 year span. Since then the team has struggled to find itself a new dynamic duo to replace the two future Hall of Famers. Minute Maid Park has looked to Carlos Lee and Lance Berkman have been doing their best to recreate the magic the two Houston baseball legends brought for years.
