Cleveland Indians Tickets
At one point the Cleveland Indians had to wait 33 years between postseason appearances. By the mid-90s, the Indians reeled off five American League Central division titles.  The Cleveland Indians had a chance to be one of the young exciting teams of the 2009 MLB season, but as fans who went to Progressive Field can attest, the baseball team came up well short of expectations. The Indians finished tied with the Kansas City Royals for fourth in the AL Central, 21.5 games behind the first place Minnesota Twins. The end of the season came well before the schedule ran out of games. The Indians traded Cliff Lee to the Phillies in the middle of the season, signaling the second time in two seasons that Cleveland has waived the white flag before it was all over. The departure of Lee left the starting rotation with few viable options as starters. Aaron Laffey, newly acquired Justin Masterson, Jeremy Sowers, David Huff, and Fausto Carmona all had awful seasons. The Cleveland Indians batting order experienced some turnover as well. Ben Francisco went with Lee to Philadelphia and catcher Victor Martinez left in a midseason trade with the Boston Red Sox. By season's end the best offensive weapon on the Indians roster was Shin-Soo Choo. Choo hit .300, hit 20 home runs, and drove in a team leading 86 RBI. The 2010 MLB season should be an interesting few months. The team spent the 2009 season shedding payroll. Will they do the same in 2010? Will the prospects picked up by the two big trades pan out soon?
