Chicago White Sox Tickets The Chicago White Sox finished the 2009 MLB baseball season with a 79-83 record and 7.5 games back from the American League Central champions Minnesota Twins. The White Sox tickets were a decent purchase for a home game at U.S. Cellular Field, where they went 43-38. The team struggled to score runs, which seemed out of character given the last few seasons. Mark Teahen comes over from Kansas City to play third base, Juan Pierre came over from the Dodgers to play left field, and Andrew Jones came over from the Texas Rangers as the likely DH. None of these players will likely be an All Star, but along with the late season addition from last season, Alex Rios, the chemistry of the team is likely to change completely. The pitching staff is largely the same as last season's excellent staff. Jake Peavey is the new staff ace, Mark Buehrle will become the number two pitcher with John Dnaks, Gavin Floyd and Freddy Garcia filling out the rotation. Bobby Jenks will remain the closer.

 The Chicago White Sox have been selling tickets since 1901. The White Sox were a promising franchise with a couple of World Series victories in the first couple of decades, but the Black Sox scandal of 1919 spoiled a bright future. Season tickets suffered as the White Sox, dogged by the scandal, fell to the bottom of the standings in the American league. White Sox tickets reemerged as a must have in the 1950s as the "Go Go" Sox played a fast, furious pace of baseball with stars like Luis Aparicio, Minnie Minuso, and Nellie Fox. Season after season the White Sox fell just short of the post season, teasing the fans with possibility of playoff tickets. The team struggled to remain consistent in the 1960s and 1970s, with White Sox tickets a mystery to what they promised each season. The Sox suffered through the 1980s, but made a comeback in the 1990s with a strong pitching staff and plate domination by Frank Thomas. Fans bought tickets for games late into the season schedule at U.S. Cellular Field, hoping for playoffs. Ultimately a baseball strike killed a stellar run in 1994 that many Chicago White Sox fans insist would have resulted in World Series tickets. Those World Series dreams were realized in 2005 with a surprising run that took a White Sox team that was expected to finish in the bottom of the American League Central. The domination was so complete in the playoffs that the Chicago White Sox went 11-1 with two playoff series seeing sweeps. Fans fortunate to have season tickets were in awe of the club and its new manager, Ozzie Guillen.
