Chicago Cubs Tickets
After officially becoming the Cubs, the National League team dominated. Cubs tickets went to four World Series in a decade, splitting the series. The team was feared on any schedule and seats at West Side Park were hard to find. It was after that golden age and after a move to Wrigley Field that the Cubs began to fail on the big stage.
Throughout the Golden Age of baseball the Cubs made it to six World Series, losing every time. It was called a curse after the 1945 series when tavern owner Billy Sianis placed a curse on the club after he and his goat were ejected from the game. Though Cubs tickets allowed Chicagoans to see players like Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins, Ron Santo, and Ryne Sandberg, they never saw a World Series victory.
The curse has such a hold on the team, that, real or not, every season somewhere along the schedule the Cubs generally falter and Cubs tickets become more about having a good time at Wrigley Field than watching for the National League Pennant.

Chicago Cubs 2009 Season Recap
|
 The Chicago Cubs just simply could not get out of the funk they were in all season long. The Cubs finished with an 83-78 record and second in the NL Central, trailing the St. Louis Cardinals by 7.5 games. The crowds at Wrigley Field were happy. The baseball team finished 46-34 over the 2009 summer. The team struggled on the road, going 37-44. Despite the money invested in keeping star players and bringing in great talent, the team failed to have any individuals with league-leading seasons and the team struggles at the plate, driving just the 10th most runs in the National League. That run total could cover for a pretty good Cubs' pitching staff that ended the season with an ERA of 3.84 (5th in the league). First baseman Derrek Lee seemed to the lone regular starter that had it together. He hit 35 home runs and batted .306. Third baseman Aramis Ramirez would have joined him had he not spent half the season on the DL. Major acquisition right fielder Milton Bradley was simply awful. He played in just 124 games, hit .257, and had as many post game blowups with the media as he did home runs (12). Add in the sophomore slump by catcher Geovany Soto, the typical sub par offering from Alfonso Soriano and the Cubs bats were far too quiet all season long. Starting pitchers Randy Wells, Ted Lilly, Ryan Dempster, and Carlos Zambrano were all great throughout the 2009 MLB season. Wells had a 3.05 ERA, Lilly had a 3.10 ERA, Dempster had a 3.65 ERA, and Zambrano had a 3.77 ERA. Rich Harden had a decent year with a 4.09 ERA as well. Unfortunately, they combined for just 44 wins in 113 starts. Bullpen issues did not help. The only reliable set up man was Angel Guzman and Cubs closers Kevin Gregg and Carlos Marmol had their share of struggles with ERA that were high for a closer. The Chicago Cubs will need a renaissance on offense to do any better in the 2010 MLB season. The walls in Wrigley are a little short and the wind and basket helps, so it is not incomprehensible to see baseballs flying out the park once again. Hopefully Cubs tickets for the 2010 schedule will bring some postseason play as well just good times.
