Arizona Diamondbacks Tickets The Arizona Diamondbacks had a difficult 2009 baseball season. They finished 70-92 in the NL West and even had a losing record at home at Chase Park. This year came after being one of the most promising young teams in MLB in 2008 and winning the division in 2007. Arizona Diamondback tickets seemed doomed from the beginning though, as the team lost former Cy Young winning starter Brandon Webb within the first week of the season. The Diamondbacks come in the 2010 season with expectations for a much better season. Brandon Webb returns and Arizona added Edwin Jackson to the rotation from the Detroit Tigers. Though this team is expected to be better they are not necessarily expected to be division winners. The team lost two of its starters last season that had an ERA in the low 4s (Doug Davis and Max Scherzer). This leaves an uneasy feeling when looking at the end of the rotation. Billy Buckner is penciled in as the number four starter. Buckner is trying to earn a spot in the majors for a fourth season at the age of 26. Last season he started 13 games but had an ERA of 6.40. The fifth starter is Yankees prospect Ian Kennedy, a player that has almost no major league experience. The position players remain mostly the same from last season. The only additions are a pair of Braves. Adam LaRoche is the new first baseman and Kelly Johnson is the new second baseman. LaRoche provides some more pop for this lineup. LaRoche, third baseman Mark Reynolds, and right fielder Justin Upton will be the three main sluggers on this squad. Center fielder Chris Jackson can drive the ball, but he misses far too often to be a reliable batter. The Diamondbacks have power and a good three-man deep starting rotation. This alone gives them a shot at playing .500 baseball in the 2010 season. The bullpen, including closer Chad Qualls, remains a huge question mark for this team though.
