Milwaukee Brewers Tickets

The Milwaukee Brewers are one of the top professional baseball teams in the United States located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was found in Seattle, Washington in 1969 where it was first known as the Seattle Pilots then in 1970, it moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where it was now known as the Milwaukee Brewers. It plays its home games at Miller Park.

The current manager for the team is Ron Roenicke who was a former major baseball league player and a former bench coach for the L.A. Angels Of Anaheim. The current general manager is Doug Melvin. Current coaches are Johnny Narron the hitting coach, Rick Kranitz the pitching coach, Garth Lorg the first base coach, Ed Sedar the third base coach, Jerry Narron the bench coach, Lee Tunnel the bullpen coach, Marcus Hannel the bullpen catcher, Mike Guerrero and John Shelby. Its team roster currently consists of 50 players.

They won the American Leaugue Pennant and the American League East Division which moved them up to the world series where they lost four game to three to Saint Louis Cardinals. 26 years later, in 2008, they qualified their post season berth where they were defeated in the National League Division Series by the team which became the world champions, the Philadelphia Phillies. In September 2011, they won the National League Division Series but lost to Saint Louis Cardinal who later became the World Series champions. Entering 2014, the brewers are looking to start off well with an estimated payroll of 83 million dollars. Their new key additions are 1st/3rd Base Mark Reynolds and LHP Will Smith. They have also lost a few key players who are, OF Norichika Aoki, 1B/OF Corey Hart, 1B/3B Yuniesky Betancourt and LHP Mike Gonzalez.

Perhaps, the most queries that are asked in the coming 2014 season for the Brewers is, will Ryan Braun be able to make an easy move back from suspension? Will the Brewers top 2 pitchers, Wily Peralta and Tyler Thornbug be able to perform as expected? And lastly, what will become of Aramis Ramirez who was injured in 2013.

Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee Brewers History

It took one season for the Brewers to play as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 before leaving the Pacific Northwest and arriving in Milwaukee to take the place of the Braves. The move did not mean the team would start winning. The Brewers struggled as expansion teams often do, but by the 1980s the club had gotten this poor play out of its system. The Brewers had two Cy Young Award-winning pitchers in Rollie Fingers and Pete Vuckovich and one of the best hitters in history in Robin Yount.

This collection of talent went to the represent the American League in 1982 World Series, but did not come back with the franchise’s first title. In the history of the Brewers no team has come closer than that year. Still, the seasons, whether in the AL or the NL, were not bad by any means. Yount remained with the team for over a decade and enjoyed playing with Paul Molitor and Greg Sheffield. The Brew Crew even became an unlikely power-hitting paradise and remained competitive until the middle of the ‘90s.

A run off futility did not end until the middle of the 2000s and after the club moved from the AL Central to the NL Central. Then Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun became the new stars. Fielder arrived in the MLB as oversized as his father, Detroit great Cecil, and swatted balls over the fence with equal ease. Braun came into the league with a significantly more svelte figure and possessed not only the ability to blast the ball well over 400 feet from home plate, but he also run the bases.

Together these two were the cornerstones of a club that has remained a contender. In the 21st century, thanks to Braun’s production at the very least, Milwaukee has won as many as 96 games in the regular season and been to the postseason twice. They have not gotten passed the NLCS, but it seems only a matter of time before the Crew celebrates its first World Series win.
