Los Angeles Dodgers Tickets

Los Angeles Dodgers Tickets
The Los Angeles Dodgers are loaded in 2013. They added big name free agents to the batting order and the starting rotation and the baseball team is expected to challenge the Giants for the number one spot in the NL West. Certainly the hard core fans expect even more, namely they expect Los Angeles Dodgers tickets to Dodger Stadium for the World Series.
This team has a terrific mix of power and patience. Hanley Ramirez, Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Kemp, and Andre Ethier are going to hit 20-plus homeruns and find the alleys for doubles. Gonzalez, Kemp, and Ethier double as high OBP threats, along with A.J. Ellis, so those hits that boost the team’s slugging percentage will also be driving in more than a single run.
The front four of the starting rotation have as much to offer as these impressive hitters. Clayton Kershaw, Zach Greinke, Josh Beckett, and Chad Billingsley are as good a group of starters as any in the NL West and, by extension, the MLB. The bullpen has a couple of decent pieces too, with Brandon League set to close and Kenley Jansen a should-be closer who is going to shut the opposition down in the eighth inning.

Los Angeles Dodgers History
The Los Angeles Dodgers are an MLB franchise with an incredible history. They began as the Brooklyn Atlantics in 1883 and moved west as part of the MLB expansion in 1958. The franchise pedigree is quite impressive with six World Series titles and 21 National League pennants. Not bad for a team run out of New York by the Yankees.
This franchise is perhaps most famous for ending segregation in the MLB. The team signed Jackie Robinson in 1947 and brought him up to play second base. Robinson enjoyed an incredible career with several All Star game selections and an NL MVP in 1949. The Dodgers played well as a team too, winning six National League pennants and a World Series while he played for the team.
The move west immediately improved the club’s standing. Instead of merely winning NL pennant winners, the team would actually win a few in the Fall Classic (winning three of four in the first decade in LA).
These Dodgers of the 1960s were much more famous for the pitching than hitting. Los Angeles had Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax seemed to strikeout an incredible number of hitters while each regularly throwing around 300 innings a season. This is unheard of today. Now a pitcher is considered a workhorse if they manage to surpass 200 innings.
It seemed the club could do no wrong on the West Coast. After Koufax and Dysdale left the team built a contender around pitcher Don Sutton and infielders Steve Garvey and Ron Cey. The Los Angeles Dodgers went to four World Series with this group, finally winning one again in 1981.
Manager Tommy Lasorda helped the team as it transitioned into the 1980s and, eventually, the 1990s. Lasorda became a popular and imposing figure for the Dodgers, so much so that he is credited with as much to do with the 1988 World Series as are Kirk Gibson, Orel Hershiser, and Tim Leary. The Dodgers have continued to play well in the 21st century, but have yet to add another pennant to the franchise pedigree.
