Florida Marlins Tickets
The Marlins are not a spectacular team in regards to hitting or pitching. However, they are very good at both, which makes for a balanced game plan. The offense scores the eighth most runs thanks to the efforts of first baseman Gaby Sanchez and right fielder Emilio Bonifacio. Sanchez has been incredible, hitting .341 with a .423 OBP and six home runs. Bonifacio is not quite the power hitter, but still has a .300 batting average and very respectable .364 OBP.
Florida's pitching staff has the 10th best ERA and ninth best WHIP. The Marlins starters have been pretty good at the top of the order but fall apart deeper into the rotation. Josh Johnson ha six quality starts in seven games and has a 1.68 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 8.57 K/9. Ricky Nolasco has six quality starts in seven games too, and has a 3.23 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. After these two Anibal Sanchez has been remarkably inconsistent and Chris Volstad and Javier Vazquez has given a couple of minor leaguers hopes of being called up by midseason.
The saving grace has been the bullpen (even if they in a slump right now). If there is a game to be held Mike Dunn, Randy Choate, Brian Sanches and Clay Hensley will hold it. If there is a game to be saved Leo Nunez will save it. Nunez has 11 saves in 11 opportunities and is striking out at least one batter an inning. The Florida Marlins better hope the backend of the rotation figures it out quickly is replaced with a pair who can hold down the fort with an ERA below 5.00 if this bullpen is to anything but squandered and worn thin with long innings in middle relief.

The Florida Marlins were thought to have some special seven year itch for the World Series. However, the 2010 season ended that thought. The Marlins went 80-82 and finished third in the NL East.
