Chicago White Sox Tickets
The Chicago White Sox are heading into the 2012 regular season a year after disappointing the masses at U.S. Cellular Field. The big budget baseball team finished the season 79-83, forcing GM Kenny Williams to make changes on the bench and throughout the roster. Gone is Ozzie and in is Robin Ventura at manager. Gone is ace Mark Buehrle and in at ace is John Danks. Gone are Juan Pierre and Carlos Quentin and in are last season's promising outfielders Alejandro De Aza and Dayan Viciedo. These Chicago White Sox tickets are on sale to see if these changes are going to result in any more wins. So what is the new starting rotation? Well Danks, Gavin Floyd, Jake Peavy, Chris Sale, and Phil Humber will be attempting to hold down the fort. Danks and Floyd had subpar seasons. Peavy has not been doing much since coming over from San Diego. Sale is being promoted from the bullpen, though this was not as unplanned winter maneuver. Humber was a pleasant surprise from KC. The White Sox bullpen is led by middle reliever Jesse Crain and closer Matt Thornton. Crain was the most consistent pitcher on the roster last season. Thornton showed some promise last year when he held 20 games and averaged 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings. He is making the move to closer and he should be able to flourish thanks to his overpowering fastball, perhaps lowering his ERA from 3.32. Chicago's offense is going to revolve around first baseman Paul Konerko, the revival of Alex Rios and Adam Dunn's careers, and the continued development of Gordon Beckham. Last season Konerko had another All Star worthy season and the White Sox will be relying upon him to hit .300 and 30 home runs.

Chicago White Sox History
|
Chicago White Sox tickets are MLB tickets to U.S. Cellular Field to see the baseball team often seen as second team in the Second City. Yet, the White Sox have been more competitive a franchise during the Cubs historic drought. The Southside can claim a World Series title and three Central Division titles in the 21st century, as well as always being a team in the hunt in the division, no matter how poor a season start. White Sox tickets have been available since 1894, though then the team was known as the St. Paul Saints and Sioux City Cornhuskers. In 1900 the team arrived in Chicago and became the White Stockings. Four years later the team had both its current city and name. These early versions of the baseball team had moments of greatness, winning the World Series in 1906 and 1917. This early run of success ended with the Chicago Black Sox in 1919. Several players on the team threw the World Series after squabbling with Comiskey over pay. The eight players who threw the game were banned from the MLB as the league searched for a team to make an example of in an era plagued by similar scandals. Chicago White Sox tickets for the next few decades were baseball tickets for a struggling franchise. The White Sox enjoyed a terrific though frustrating run of second and third place finishes in the 1950s and 1960s. These early teams enjoyed the exploits of Luis Aparicio, Luke Appling, Eddie Collins, Nellie Fox, and Ted Lyons. Chicago baseball fans would have to wait until the 1990s for the White sox to return competitively. These teams were led by hitters like Frank Thomas and Robin Ventura and pitchers like Alex Fernandez and Jack McDowell. The Chicago White Sox could have added another World Series title in 1994. The previous season Chicago lost in the ALCS to the Toronto Blue Jays, Frank Thomas won his first MVP, Gene Lamont won the Manager of the Year, and Jack McDowell won the Cy Young. Sadly the 1994 season ended with a strike and the team with a Sox 67-46 record and in first place in the first year of the AL Central in an unfinished season. White Sox tickets for the next few seasons were MLB tickets to see a competitive team constantly falling short of taking out the Cleveland Indians. Chicago continued to remain competitive in the 21st century, winning the division in 2000, but losing to the Mariners in the ALDS. Five years later the Chicago White Sox fielded a team with few expectations. Ozzie Guillen turned this collection of unproven talent and supposedly over the hill veterans and won the 2005 World Series, sweeping the Red Sox in the ALDS, disbanding the Angels in five games in the ALCS, and taking the Astros in four straight in the World Series. OnlineSeats has Chicago White Sox tickets to enjoy a day (or night) at U.S. Cellular Field as the baseball team tries to take the AL Central again and win another World Series before the Chicago Cubs.
