This should be an upgrade, as should the addition of Matt Lindstrom. Lindstrom should displace Kevin Gregg as closer. The Baltimore Orioles actually achieved quite average offensive results. They scored the 14th most runs, the 19th most OBP, and the 9th best slugging percentage. Left fielder Nick Markakis, shortstop J.J. Hardy, third baseman Mark Reynolds, center fielder Adam Jones, and catcher Matt Wieters return as a truly dangerous group, something the Orioles fans had not enjoyed for quite some time prior to the last season. Oriole tickets should sell quite well as the baseball team's prospects of forging a winning season are much greater in 2012 than they have been in seasons past.

Baltimore welcomed a golden age in the MLB from 1964 to 1983, winning seven divisional championship, six AL pennants and three World Series championships. Yes, the Baltimore Orioles enjoyed the exploits of Hall of Famers third baseman Brooks Robinson, outfielder Frank Robinson, pitcher Jim Palmer, shortstop Cal Ripken Jr., and first baseman Eddie Murray. The World Series wins came in 1966, 1977, and 1983. Jim Palmer actually played on everyone one of those teams, playing in the 1966 in his second season and in the 1983 series in his penultimate.
