Baltimore Orioles Tickets for Sale
After 14 straight losing seasons, the Baltimore Orioles have finished at .500 or above for four straight years. Unfortunately, they missed out on a playoff berth in 2015 due to a regression in their pitching and a compromised outfield. Baltimore should be a contender again in 2016 if their starters can deliver and they prove successful in both free agency and off season trades. They are off to a solid start this winter with the re-signing of first baseman Chris Davis, right-handed pitcher Darren O’Day and catcher Matt Wieters as this trio has been highly successful under manager Buck Showalter for the past four seasons. Baltimore also signed Yovani Gallardo as a replacement for Wei-Yin Chen, which should be an upgrade to their pitching rotation. Baltimore’s bullpen will remain the strength of the 2016 team with the back end being the most dominant. Oriole relievers were ranked third in the AL last season with a 3.21 ERA and they will have the services of closer Zach Britton, O’Day, right-handers Brad Brach and Mychal Givens, and left-handed specialist Brian Matusz all returning to the squad for 2016. Shortstop J.J. Hardy and second baseman Jonathan Schoop create an excellent middle, while third base is solid with Manny Machado, a two-time Gold Glove winner. The outfield will look a bit different with Hyun Soo Kim, an MLB rookie who signed a two-year $7 million contract after turning heads in the Korean Baseball Organization. Look for Kim to fill a much needed gap in left field and add a punch to the lineup.
Showalter has impacted and turned around the losing culture in Baltimore, leading the Orioles to two playoff appearances out of the past four seasons. Although the AL East is a tough division, look for the Baltimore to be in the mix in 2016 and fighting for a playoff berth. Buy your Baltimore Orioles tickets early and come on out and support this exciting team on the rise.
