Piniero won 15 games for the Cardinals last season and posted an impressive ERA of 3.49, so he should be a functional replacement for Lackey. Matsui is an offensive upgrade over Guerroro, hitting .274 and 28 home runs and winning the World Series MVP for the Yankees. The other major move the Angels made was resigning Bobby Abreu to a two-year contract. Abreu was signed in the 2009 off season ay a bargain rate because his offensive numbers were supposed to begin a free fall. He proved everyone wrong and had a great season, hitting .293 with 15 home runs, 103 RBI, and 30 stolen bases. Los Angeles should be prepared for another division title winning season with a team that remains offensively loaded. Kendry Morales has emerged as the foremost power hitter in the lineup, a line up that has plenty of protection with speedsters (minus third baseman Chone Figgins though), power hitters, and contact hitters. The real weakness remains the bullpen. The starting rotation is passable, but the games are closed by Brian Fuentes, a closer with a near-4.00 ERA and an extremely unimpressive K per 9 ratio.

 The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have been bringing American League baseball to the West Coast since 1961. Nolan Ryan and Frank Tanana were one-two in the starting rotation for the Angels, making back to back tickets a possibility to see one of the best pitching combos in Major League Baseball. Ryan and Tanana may have been an exciting strike out duo, but their records were not as impressive as the heat they brought, prompting the Angels to depart with both pitchers despite outcry from the season tickets holders. By the late 1970s the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim thought they were going to remain in contention after a lineup with MVP Don Baylor, Bert Campaneris, Rod Carew, Dan Ford, and Bobby Grich would usher in a new era of Angels domination. The 1979 season made playoff tickets available, but the 1980s were a time of the Angels just missing the division chase in the AL West. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim eventually moved beyond a threat and took the team and its fans to the World Series in 2002 with plenty of tickets for fans and families. Since then, the Angels have been a constant contender out of the AL West.
