Chicago Cubs 2008
After officially becoming the Cubs, the National League team dominated. Cubs tickets went to four World Series in a decade, splitting the series. The team was feared on any schedule and seats at West Side Park were hard to find. It was after that golden age and after a move to Wrigley Field that the Cubs began to fail on the big stage.
Throughout the Golden Age of baseball the Cubs made it to six World Series, losing every time. It was called a curse after the 1945 series when tavern owner Billy Sianis placed a curse on the club after he and his goat were ejected from the game. Though Cubs tickets allowed Chicagoans to see players like Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins, Ron Santo, and Ryne Sandberg, they never saw a World Series victory.
The curse has such a hold on the team, that, real or not, every season somewhere along the schedule the Cubs generally falter and Cubs tickets become more about having a good time at Wrigley Field than watching for the National League Pennant.

2009 Season Preview

 The Chicago Cubs were supposed to break their 100 years of futility, but ended with the best record in the National League and a first round exit thanks to a sweep by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This season at Wrigley Field the fans hope that they can build off the incredible season and take the next step, an appearance in the NLCS or the even the World Series. The team is still incredibly balanced, and though the team would be a year late, Cubs fans would still love to have tickets to an end to their misery 101 years after their last win.
Carlos Zambrano, Rich Harden, Ryan Dempster, Ted Lilly, and who ever emerges as the fifth starter should provide plenty of excellent innings on the mound throughout the regular season. Kerry Wood is gone and now the closer role is a battle between Carlos Marmol and Kevin Gregg. It is a battle between power and experience.
If the pitching ever falters, even if one of the middle relievers leaves for a starting spot, then the bats should drive in plenty of runs to pick up the wins. Alfonso Soriano is the superstar, but he is surrounded by all stars like Derrek Lee Aramis Ramirez, and Geovany Soto. Kouke Fukudome, Reed Johnson, and Mike Fontenot may not put up incredible numbers, but they were valuable parts of the machine last season and they should only continue to help keep the inning going this year to the joy of those in the stands with Cubs tickets.
Lou Piniella has helped lead the Chicago Cubs to the playoffs twice in row and hope that this will be third. He also hopes that this time the Cubs tickets will take the team much farther than the first round.
