Miranda Cosgrove is perhaps better known for her roles in School of Rock, as the mischievous little sister in Drake and Josh, or as Carly in iCarly. She is not simply a young actress trying to increase her exposure. Her singing career began with her first starring role in iCarly, when she sang the theme song "Leave It All to Me". She reunited with former co-star Drake Bell to record the show's anthem and was hooked on music ever since.

Miranda Cosgrove's show's single reached number 100 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2007. This led to a record deal with Columbia Records in June 2008. The deal featured Miranda singing four songs to be listed on the iCarly soundtrack.
