Michael Jackson Tribute
Michael Jackson was scheduled to play perhaps the most impressive residency ever at the O2 Arena in London, but sadly he passed away at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009. Family, friends, and fans alike watched his funeral live or on television sites around the world. Now, they can all celebrate the singer that dominated pop with 17 number one hits and 13 Grammy Awards as Michael Jackson Tribute concert tickets are made available for a show sometime between September 22 and 27 at the Schoenbrunn Palace in Venice.
Originally rumors placed a tribute concert at the O2 Arena on August 29 to celebrate Michael Jackson's 51st birthday posthumously, but the organizers failed to meet the deadlines and the concert that was sure to include some of the most popular and influential musicians in the world failed to come together. This time, the organizers, event promoter World Awards Media GmbH, has secured the proper permits and now they simply need to confirm which rumored stars will make an appearance on stage to sing a rendition of Beat It or Thriller and who will moonwalk across the stage in a white glove.
Concert tickets for the event of the year are set to be released to the public August 20. By then at least some stars should be confirmed. Right now it is expected that Michael Jackson's brothers and sisters will grace the stage, most likely holding back mourning tears of joy at the display of adoration from the audience. Other names, like Usher, Justin Timberlake, Leona Lewis, Lionel Ritchie, and Stevie Wonder are floating around the Internet and publications right now. If just half the names that are being thrown out there confirm, the concert will be worth whatever price is placed on the seat.
