Marvelous 3
Marvelous 3 was a hugely popular Atlanta based rock band comprising of lead singer and guitarist Butch Walker, drummer Doug Mitchell or Mitch "Slug" McLee, and bassist Jayce Fincher. Marvelous 3 first appeared on the music scene with their highly acclaimed debut, "Math and Other Problems" in the year 1997. Spreading quickly through Word of mouth about the band's talent, Elektra Records quickly signed the band. The subsequent year saw the release of "Hey! Album" their tremendously hit CD. This album featured the catchy and very popular radio hit "Freak of the Week". Moving upon the high success of their single, Marvelous 3 toured very aggressively. They as well started appearing on some major late night shows and also managed being featured in numerous popular magazines. Subsequent to this tour, the band went about quickly and created their third album, "Ready, Sex, Go", this was released in year 2000 all in preparation for the festival called "rock epiphany of the new millennium." Ready, Sex, Go suffered because of poor promotion. The band eventually realized that their record label won't be able to provide justice to them. About a year after their third release, the band Marvelous 3 decided something unexpected. It decided to part ways and take a break from the ever increasing cut throat competition in the music business. In the year 2002, the band's lead singer Butch Walker embarked on a solo career. He released his first solo album titled Left of Self-centered. Next in year 2004 Butch released the follow up called Letters.
