Martin Chavez (Cascarita), the half-Chinese singer, totally defying his age, mesmerizes the audience through his voice and energy. Born in a family of musicians, his "rum and tobacco" voice adds a much-needed dimension. Rafael Valdes (Felo), as a second singer, renders a contrast by his honeyed and laid-back tones to Cascarita's raucous ones. Gilberto Abre, often referred to as the baby of the group, is a gifted drummer and a natural bongo player.
