Bow Wow is a very famous and successful American rapper. Though he was formerly known as Lil' Bow Wow he is now called only as bow wow. Bow wow was born as Shad Gregory Moss in the month of March 9, year 1987 at Columbus, Ohio.
Moss' mother was divorced with his father and thus he was raised by his mother and her husband i.e. his stepfather. He spent his childhood alongside with his stepsister Erica. Moss was five when he started his career as a rapper. This early starter started his career by the moniker Kid Gangsta. After about a year, he went on the front stage and impressed the famous rapper Snoop Dogg by his performance. This was during the Chronic tour and it was this tour with snoop dogg that kick started his career, snoop later went on to offer Moss his very first professional nick name, 'Lil' Bow Wow'. Also Snoop hired moss as an opening act later. This ensured him officially gaining a spot on the roster of Death Row Records. He also went on to introduce moss to Jermaine Dupri, who was a producer that tremendously helped shape Moss' future.
Moss, now popular as Lil bow wow, went on to release his first album called, Beware of Dog, when he was just thirteen years of age and became an overnight sensational artist in a very small span of time. And all this was under the able mentorship of famous record producer Jermaine Dupri. He later went on to break out on his own in the year 2003 with his album Unleashed; this was which his very first without mentorship of Dupri.

Bow Wow in addition to his own albums has also contributed to albums of other artists like Will Smith's Wild Wild West. This album was named after the movie also starring will Smith. Bow wow also had a guest appearance on shows like Brandy's TV sitcom, Moesha. Later bow wow made his acting debut as a young orphan in the movie, Like Mike. In this movie he acted as an orphan who eventually gets a shot at the NBA. Bow wow is also a very good friend of Allen Iverson the famous basketball star.
