Len
Len is a famous Canadian pop music group known as a one-hit wonder for their best known song "Steal My Sunshine" which was released in 1999. The band was formed in 1991 by two sibling brothers.
The band comprises of performers like Marc Costanzo the lead vocalist and also performs on the guitar, Sharon Costanzo again a vocalist and bass guitarist.Len's early songs were suggestive of artists such as My Bloody Valentine, to the ALL, Mystery Machine, and The Descendants. Marc and Shar were flattered when they were dubbed as a "hip-hop Human League", they also admitted to being "weaned" on Human League. The band's existence has spanned for 15 years since the year 1991. The reason for this long association has been that unlike many other bands, the members in this band are siblings and as expected have an unusual strong bond binding each other.
As an indie band, they first released an EP, and then two albums followed. The names of these albums were "Superstar" and "Get Your Legs Broke". These albums went on to sell around 10,000 to 15,000 copies each. They eventually managed to bring D Rock, Planet Pea and DJ Moves into the Len crew. These additions also brought about a change in the sound of their original music from the previous alternative punk/pop to a genre of more hip-hop sound. They in the year 1999 released their new album "You Can't Stop the Bum Rush", which featured the super hit song "Steal My Sunshine". This album was a part of the Go soundtrack.

Artist Biography - Len
|
In 2002 after much delay courtesy dream works records, Len released "We Be Who We Be" only in the United States and Canada. The album was never released worldwide due to the nature of the struggling label dream works, so Marc decided to let go the struggling label for the new Canadian Venus Corp-EMI. Venus Corp released a new album called "Diary of the Madmen", which ultimately was released on the February 15, 2005 but was distributed in Canadian stores only. Some stores in Canada decided not to sell the album due to the explicit nature of language used in it.
Len are now busy working on their new album, which is a sequel to their previous album Diary of the Madmen, to be finished sometime in this year. It was due to be released at the end of April 2006, however it seems now to be stretched to late May. So all you fans of Len out there get out and get your tickets booked now. You won't want to miss this for anything? Do not wait for the last minute, online booking available now.
