Elton John

Elton John was born in Pinner England on March 25, 1947 under the birth name Reginald Dwight. He is considered by many as one of the most flamboyant and commercially successful recording artists of the last 30 years. Elton achieved his peak in the 70s with his sidekick with whom he collaborated on several occasions, Bernie Taupin. However, Elton has been able to do what many artists have never done, achieve a Top 40 single in each year from 1970-1996. Some of his most well known hit songs are 'Your Song,' 'Rocket Man,' 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,' and 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me.

At the mere age of 11, Elton John won a scholarship to study music at the Royal Academy of Music. After only six years of school, Elton John decided it was time to hit it big. He spent most of the 60s going from band to band before ending up at Liberty Records and meeting his eventual tag team partner Bernie Taupin. Shortly thereafter, Reginald Dwight officially became Elton John and as of today Sir Elton John.
